It explains the historical and philosophical foundations of our country’s ideas about constitutional government. Then it takes a brief look at the mechanics of the Constitution and organization the national government.
In looking at the development of the Constitution, meaning of the various rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights, expansion of rights during the last two hundred years, we will see the decay of many aspects of the original plan: Federalism, division of power, and checks and balances. Last, it tackles the roles that many citizens have ignored, even rejected in the experiment of the American Republic.
